A relatively deep water species of ray found in the Northern Atlantic, around Greenland, Iceland and Western Norway. Bottom feeding on a variety of food, particularly on sandy or muddy areas.
Colouration grey to fawn upper body, with underneath creamy white. Snout of medium length with distinct point. Upper surface lacking in thorns apart from central row, and possibly around eyes.
Normally does not grow to a large size.
