Ombrine (UMBRINA CIRROSA)are found in the Eastern Atlantic from the Bay of Biscay and Gibraltar to southern Morocco, including the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Records south of Morocco have not been supported with descriptions.Ombrine can be found over rocky and sandy bottoms in coastal waters. The depth range at which Ombrine can be found is between 0 -100 metres.Juveniles are known to enter estuaries. Ombrines feed on bottom invertebrates.
The resilience of the Ombrine (UMBRINA CIRROSA) is rated as medium as the minimum population doubling time is 1.4 to 4.4 years. It is found in subtropical regions between 46 degrees North and 30 degrees North and 18 degrees West and 42 degrees East. They are harmless to humans.
