There are many species of moray eels (muraenia helena l) found throughout tropical and temperate seas. They generally lurk in rocky crevices from where they can ambush their prey, usually hunting by night. Some morays can reach over 4 m/13 ft in length and, because of their aggression, are considered dangerous to divers.
