|
Monkfish, squatina squatina,
is a bottom living fish found on sand or mud in up to 90 metres, feeding extensively on bottom living fish, crabs and molluscs.
Live-bearing up to 20 young at one time , and can grow to a length of 6feet.
Colouration Sandy or grey-brown above, finely dotted darker markings, with a white underside. Body is greatly expanded from side to side, with large pectoral and pelvic fins, and a wide mouth.
