Smaller member of the billfish family growing to about 3 metres, found throughout the subtropical Atlantic Ocean, rarely in the Mediterranean. Popular game fish found in deeper water where it feeds on fish and squid. Colouration blue black dorsally, shading into silver white laterally (with brownish areas) and ventrally silver white.
Prominent front area of dorsal fin distinctly rounded, and tail fin with long, relatively narrow lobes.
