John dory ( zeus faber)
is a solitary fish, normally found in inshore waters, predominantly feeding on fish it has extensible jaws for capturing prey. A good food fish but not commercially important due to limited catches.
Deep bodied fish with massive head and large dorsal fin. Darkish yellow-brown on back, with yellowish lines on sides. Silver grey ventrally with large black blotch on sides.
