The greater forkbeard ( Phycis Blennoides) is common off south west Britain and southwards, and an important food fish in the Mediterranean. Found over mud and sand bottoms it feeds mainly on crustaceans.
Grey-brown upper body and sides, light grey or silvery ventrally with dark lateral line.
