A relatively deep water species found in the open ocean, including Eastern Atlantic, species is of limited sport and commercial value. Oily fleshed, feeding mainly on fish, crustaceans and squid.
Colouration dark brown to black over all body, well developed pelvic fins and lateral keels. Grows up to 2 metres in length.
