Seabream growing to moderate size, and well spread throughout Eastern Atlantic from Bay of Biscay southwards as far as South Africa.
Normally found over rocky bottoms, in small groups, feeding on small invertebrates and seaweeds. Colouration silver with usually five distinct vertical stripes. Not commercially important.
