One of the sea-bream growing to a large size, and thus a good sport fish. Blunt headed, and having relatively large teeth, colouration pinkish red shading into silver laterally.
Distribution – Mediterranean and Eastern Atlantic as far north as Portugal.
Generally bottom dwelling in rocky areas shallower than 200 metres, feeding on shellfish, fish and crustaceans.
