Couches Bream , Sparus Pagrus deep-bodied bream with a general rosy colour, darker back and silvery sides. Fins pink with tail fin tipped with white.
Relatively rare in northern waters, commoner south of the Bay of Biscay and in the Mediterranean. Lives over sand or muddy bottoms and feeds on molluscs and crustaceans. Young fish found in shallow water, and there is a general migration to deeper water during the winter.
