Standing Committee Meeting - Weymouth September 2011

Delegates from 14 Sections were in attendance,

The following points were covered at the meeting.

It was agreed to consider the appointment of a P.R.O. on the Executive. Member sections were asked to consider the proposal and submit their views on the areas of responsibility of such an appointment.

A limited edition lapel badge would be produced to commemorate the 50th Boat Championship year, for sale to all members.

Members were updated on final arrangements for the Weymouth championships.

Details of the 2012 Boat and Line Class Championships in Tanager, Norway in August 2012 were announced, and brochures subsequently circulated.
Initial information on the 2013 Championships in Elsinore, Denmark were given.

Confirmation details were issued on the following events:
2016 Boat and Line Class Championships –Wexford, Ireland
2012 European Shore championships – Akureyri, Iceland
2013 European Shore Championships – Netherlands
2014 European Shore Championships – Wales

Mexico was approved as the venue for the next Game Championships in 2013

A report was given by EFSA delegates attending an EU sports meeting in Brussels.

The venue for the next Standing Committee meeting will be announced in due course.

The Standing Committee Meeting was followed by the Annual General Meeting.

Annual General Meeting

The meeting approved the following:

Audited Accounts for the year to 31st December 2010

Appointment of Marcus Wuest as General Secretary following the retirement of Hamish Holmes
Appointment of Massimo Brogna as Championship Officer Game
Appointment of Peter Ouwendijk as Hon. Solicitor (non-Executive)

Amendment to Constitution rule 14.8. “Member Sections should endeavour to affiliate other nationally recognised Sea Angling organisations in any manner they think fit, taking into account any particular circumstances. Such bodies may only affiliate to the Section they are geographically based”.

Hamish Holmes was elected an Honorary Life Member of EFSA HQ in recognition of his long service as General Secretary. He was subsequently presented with a certificate and an oil painting as a farewell gift.

The next A.G.M. will take place in Tanager on the 4th August 2012.
